News and Viewspeg's 1st beginner win

March 2010
Crufts is nearly upon us again so good luck to all the Teamwork class members. Crufts, and the KC, has been the focus of a lot of negative publicity but it is like any activity people do with their dogs it is what you make of it. So make sure you and your dogs enjoy yourselves. It is possible to be professional, to win, have a well trained dog and to have fun all at the same time! Take my Wys (Ch Springfarm Dance Time)...entirely clicker trained, had fun and still won in the show ring! Although not heavily campaigned, she is a champion, was best bitch at Crufts in her time, as well as top wining bitch in her breed.

Let me know how you get on. :-)

August 2009

Griff won his third B at Cambridge championship show under judge Kit Clow. This means he is now C only.

Huge congratulations to Debbie and Diesel (Friday afternoon competitive obedience class) for winning their 2nd Beginner at Spalding obedience show. This takes them out of Beginners and so they will now be working Novice and A. Well done Debbie and Diesel!

July 2009

Well done Nichola and Ailsa with Dougie (Friday evening competitive obedience class) on getting Best of Breed in Tibetan Terriers at Horncastle open breed show.

May 2009

The annual Clicker Fun day was on the 10th May and raised a total of £299.28 to go to the 2 designated charities...Wiccaweys Collie rescue and Wood Green Animal Shelter. Thanks to everyone who helped out and made it such a good day. Cheques will be winging their way to both organisations in due course.

Well done to Glyn and Shar Pei Poppy (ex ringcraft) who got the Reserve CC at Birmingham

April 2009

Well done to all those who gained their KC Bronze Good Citizen awards!

Hannah with Spook
Tina with Levey
Cherie with Marley
Raquel with Willow

and well done to those who gained their Silver

Hannah with Frankie
Keith with Jensen
Sarah with Maddi
Maggie with Barney

Congratulations everyone! It requires time and effort to do the work for them, so well done all. Thanks to judge Andrew Jones for taking the time and trouble to test them. Hopefully they will all progress to their Gold in due course. Spook is the youngest pup we've had pass the Bronze so far and at 18 weeks she was well able to do all the exercises. Well done Spook!

If I can get my new web editing software to cooperate I might even get some piccies up!

Agility classes were started at the Riseholme Campus of the University at the end of the month. It is noticible that the dogs that have already been through obedience training, have learned how to play and have a really positive relationship with their owners have a huge head start when it comes to working on a new activity like this, and can get stuck in and  learn it much more easily than if they came to it without it.

Wiccaweys is a rescue devoted to rehoming collies. We have had a few Wiccaweys collies at Teamwork Training, including Graham and Margaret's Tigger.

Wood Green Animal Shelter is a much larger organisation based at Godmanchester near Cambridge.
