The class's aims are

• to help you teach your dog what is wanted for the showring
   
• to motivate your dog so he enjoys it
   
• to get your pup or adult dog used to being handled and examined
   
• to help your dog be used to a variety of experiences and dogs in a positive and constructive way

Suitable for pups and adult dogs of all breeds and sizes. Non pedigree dogs (or dogs that will never be shown) that would find the classes useful are very welcome. All training is reward based, which means the dogs are taught through 'positive reinforcement' to do as wanted. Great emphasis is placed on building up a good relationship and improving communication between dog and handler. Harsh and punitive corrections are neither used not allowed.

In accordance with APDT Code of Practice check chains are not permitted.

Latest dates, times and prices

There is also a daytime training class aimed at domestic training for the show dog or puppy. The aim is to prepare the dogs for the KC Bronze Good Citizen test without compromising what they need to be show dogs. Puppies will automatically be enrolled on the KC Puppy Assessment scheme.
